ok. i'm officially stressed out.u know wat?
i just found out i'm supposed to type out a certain literature review on my project. deadline was yesterday.
i panicked a lot when i found out about that today when i finished my nanotech lecture!
so i rushed to the postgrad office. then i was introduced to robin (the graduate) who will guide me for the next week on the software training.
after then, i never stepped out of that office since 1pm. on my laptop, the time is 3pm. i've got 1 hour plus of battery to do this entry so i'd probably leave this cold place (yes... very cold!!) at about 4 plus.
i was rather worried at first because paul gave me like 1 whole stack of introductory reviews to read... aniwae, i managed to skim them through several times for the past 2 hours.
today is the longest day i spent in uni... haiz.
i must spur myself to finish this literature review by monday. at least i should complete by tomorrow (i hope; *fingers crossed*).
i'm only done with 2 pages and my quota is 3 to 4 pages!
assoc prof mark just came over to check on me. lucky i wasn't surfing the net... haha. i also dun dare to use lar! i had to go the computer lab upstairs to use it lor.
i was given a table. yaaaay, a table of my own. in U-N-S-W!

i just had lunch. ^^yesterday was a terrible night. it was chilly in the evening and i didn't have extra jacket. i walked 3km to the indonesian restaurant. it's a bit costly as we paid $16 per person to dine inside.
KAOZ! the nasi goreng is freaking shiok lor! and kare ayam rawkz... but the kangkong sucks. in the end, i ate to the brim. i walked back 3km to my room. however, i still had indigestion.
after commotion created from glenn and denise (they were watching OC while i was trying to sleep early for i ate medicine!), i could get some quality sleep.
morning was great but i was in a gloomy mood because i dreamt of mummy. guess i'm a little homesick for awhile.
today was a rather enriching day except for that timely lecture.
it was something like a anode-cathode-reaction on energy conversion from hydro-power due to breakdown of water. the lesson was also on the energy usuage of the earth.
so on the overall, this lecture sucks like mad.
after lecture, i had a couple emails to type to Prof Paul but i was stopped to do so because Dr Damien is not available to coach me on the 3D Imaging software.
i was asked to hold on until further instructions so i sat down in the postgrad cubicles' corner to do my ITP log book. eventually i overwrote my book until it overshot. bleahz.
aniwae, i didn't lunch in school as i see most of the people had their lunchboxes with them.
i left after double-checking with Singh that i had nothing else to do but wait... i did some groceries on my way home.
i'll ready to vacuum my room after i finished this tequila drink.

before school starts, i did something silly again. i misplaced my keys inside my room. yikes... just that i thought i had to pay $20 for the owner to get back to the house to open the house for me, samick the indian house mate told me that theresa the south american has a combination of all keys to 2nd floor.that's great. all i have to do is to ask from her!
started the first uni lecture today at room 107.
it was biomaterials lesson.
i kept having the goosebumps because dr owen kept talking about cardiovascular implants & knee joint implants.
we get to assemble the hip implant onto a skeleton... so yucky to touch those human bones.
but we had to do it.
after that 1 hour plus lecture, i headed to get my uni pass to access the computer labortories.
yay... now can use internet in school ler ^^
then i met dr damien at the EM Unit at Level 10. it was rather cool to see all the microscopes and big linux computers there.
i also got to say hi to the machine at the basement level. it was highly guarded... it's just like the charlie's angels' redstar hack-in. they had iris checks and thumbprint checks together with a swipe-card check.
it was said to have highly secured equipment inside. hahaha...
after that, i lunch'd with the ang mohs behind the roundhouse (international students plaza) on the grass. they're having a bbq party and there was free flow of beer. KAOZ! drinking beer like 12.30pm! $5 for that... i didn't eat that sandwiches because the sausages seem too scary for the oil is reused. i only had beer. and beer.
i suntanned without sweating on the uni grass. there were a couple of guys talking about tantric sex and they brought in uni books about karma sutra. my gawk! i tell u, it's my first time i see the karma sutra. it's so detailed!!
they also got a Guide to Homosexual Sex. it got coloured photographs with ALL nude gays and lesbians on the positions.
that was an eye-opener.
i was disturbed by my empty stomach and the lost key.
i headed home alone with a sandwich from the school co-op. i tried to dial the south american girl but no answer!! i was worried.
i ended up loitering at the backyard for 10 minutes before the girl opened the door for me to go inside the house, and my room.
i noticed my rented place looks a bit like Howl's Moving Castle's female lead's hattery shop. from the front, it looks like the house is only a hattery shop, but when u go inside, u can see an extension of double-leveled rooms.
i just had a bit of tequila while i was watching the downloaded charmed.
later at 6.30pm, i'd be meeting my friend for delicious ayam goreng at kingsford!! heeheez.
tomorrow i still got lecture at 10am. sianz.

the place we stayed in blue mountain, by the way, is called 3 explorers' motel.
but this motel is MUCH more better than our sydney stay. they have morning breakfasts & housekeeping services. not bad for $37 for a night stay.
aniwae, katoomba is a famous town for the blue mountain. the whole town is a tourist's attraction. ^^
we stayed pretty near to the echo point. so we could see three sisters like a 3-minute walk from our motel.
the temperature there in the day is 17 degrees celcius... the night is 12 degrees celcius.
literally we could see a bit of smoke from our mouths when we talked in the evening.
we also toured gordon falls (which is very very small waterfall) and the leura falls... we got lost in the leura falls so we ended up walking the bushwalk for like 2 hours. i swore we did a terrible bushwalk with lots of wet mud and mini-caves and sTaIrs (my gawk. i'm so afraid of this word S-T-A-I-R-S). scary... at first we thought we missed the last bus home. but ended up the bus was kind enough to fetch us up to bring us back to the town (which is another 1.5km walk to our motel).
the last day was spent travelling on the cityrail back home... a 2-hour express train home... as the train was proceeding from station to station, i can feel the pressure acting on my ears.
i'm glad we're home.
now i just finished boiling water for my 4-litre water bottle and done my laundry. ^^
tada~ i did something today *proud*
i baked myself... a pizza!! yay!
tomorrow i need to attend a number of lectures and lessons on the computer programming on material science... sianz.
i'm in tourist mood. >_<

first of all,sorry for the untidy entries i made earlier on.
guess i need to reorganise a recap on wat has happened on this week.
if u don't know... i'm repeating now again: i'd reached Sydney safely for the next 37 days!!
monday evening
i was in the airport. just when i thought i was early for check-in. i saw everyone else. >_< didn't know i was de last one... but i was 15 minutes early.
so we checked in individually. i had the right hand 3-seats with huda and denise. it was rather exciting after the check-in.
however, i got a little tensed up when i found out that i might have to go into the duty free earlier because i wanna phone my friends and buy liquor.
eventually, we made our way to the foodcourt (as a family) and i was spending last few moments before i depart from this country.
then, i started to get phonecalls.
it was cool... =D especially when u got friends to send u off. so peixin, darrell, nixon,
i was rather touched by ziv lor... he came to send me off. surprisingly, he brought huiting along too.
then we went into the duty free. i hastily got absolut kurant as i knew i wanted that all along.
it was the first time that i rushed inside an airport as it was a last call! gosh... in the end i got up on time la!
then i made an important call to an important person. on the plane. before it starts the engine. hehz.
the takeoff soon started and i just realised when the plane was taking off that i forgot to bring my toshiba power adaptor along with me!
i was sooo anguish and worried.
i couldn't concentrate properly throughout the flight. it was a rather disturbing flight for me though.
there was a lady with very loud voice too. so everytime i tried to sleep, she would talk and wake me up instead. so i couldn't sleep. >_<
tuesday
in the end, when we finished breakfast and landed, i didn't catch a wink of sleep.
it was about 6.15am in the morning when we were outside.
when i reached the place, i was with a frowning face because it realli looked like those old and tattered place. but when we went in, i was quite contented with my room. ^^
after bathing, i settled down for a sleep. after which i buzzed back home to report and my sydney friend.
when i woke up... it was almost time to go to shopping. the itinery was to go to east gardens shopping mall to grab our daily needs and food.
so we spent like approximately $20 pax.
after which, i got some fruits and bread. and a loaf of bread. of coz not forgetting some microwave food.
in the end, we reached home with a van of shopping bags. then we started to unpack our stuff and settled the bill statements.
before dinner, we had a walk down to the beaches. which was claimed to be pretty near.
it ended up very far. so we gave up and head home instead...
i was like... uggh. ._.
we slept early for the day. =P
wednesday
the next day is an exciting day. we all thought that the uni had planned out all our activities today.
so we tried to be on time to leave the house. so we did (after which chan wai and glenn overslept, but we gave them a knock to wake them anyway)
we took 35 minutes to walk to the university because the girls are very slow. i think if it was us guys, it'd probably take 10 min.
so we reached and we had a list of programmes lined up for us.
first, the Dean welcomed us with a welcome speech which is terrible because he has a heavy english accent. then, it was brian. he was kool. he showed us around in the school of mat science & engineering...
and also, a campus tour. UNSW is divided into different sections. there're lower and middle and upper campus. i dunno wat that means but it sure is organised.
i also knew that they have a lot of eating places.
after that, there was this safety induction. it was pretty bad because the guy sounded like french. yikes... aniwae, my contact lenses nearly came off and i was bored to sleep mentally.
we got to meet our supervisors later on. he was kool and a nice man to hang around with.
my assignment is use the computer to access the 3D diamond indentation. sounds rather easy.
after then, we headed home. along the way, we planned out the next day's activities. =P
we got our day-tripper tickets to travel bus and ferries and trains for free.
thursday
we woke up on a rather gloomy day but it didn't rain last nite.
we were all ready for our city tours. we looked like city idiots when we tried to hop on our bus down to circular quay (somewhere like Sentral KL where the trains all meet) but the trains, ferries and buses all end there.
aniwae, we reached the place and the scenic opera house realli killed my camera... my memory card on my camera were all spent on opera house. and the harbour bridge. they were beautiful structural buildings. will post some photos later on. check out my photobucket later on.
after that, we jumped right up on a ferry to manly. the beach at manly is superb; the weather was great too.
we headed back to circular quay to hop on the darling harbour ferry which passes by luna park. eventually, we reached darling harbour. we visited the aquarium that costs like A$26 (which we could have a 15% discount but we forgot to present the coupons!)
i think it's a better waterworld than sentosa. except for the seals exhibit.
we had dinner at one of de eating places nearby. it was called the blackbird cafe. i had chinese food which sucks like nobody's business. i couldn't even finish one bowl of rice. i took like a quarter... and the curry sucks. i also had heineken. yay! so long no liquor for sam ler.
im not gonna have anymore chinese food in this country anymore!! no more rice for sam. ^^
then we took a ferry back and we got sydney night shots... very beautiful but my camera couldn't capture those pictures properly. i'll probably grab some of my friends' photos to present them. hehz.
we hopped on a bus back to home.
back at home, my housemates were cooking outside.
so i socialized a bit. that's how i got my nickname (social butterfly)...
i got to learn that there was a south american girl, theresa... and her mate is from france. his name is pretty hard to type it out. so i prefer not to type it. hahaha...
then there was an indian (samick) and Nicholas from France.
they were cool people minus the smoke they were puffing. i watched them cook as theresa was the main cook. hehz.
later on, i made friends with this taipei fellow whose name is jet/jack. i dunno because his pronounciation kind of sucks...
we had scotch whisky because thursday is supposed to be a uni night but we have our own version of uni night in our apartment and we decided to call it the universe-meet. hahaha... it's because we're from all parts of the world.
i had a bit to drink to keep myself warm. and i was a happy man. =P
friday
today's weather is extremely hot for me. i woke up rather early like 6.40am in the morning. hehe...
we decided to leave the house when mdm ho (our singapore lecturer) came with breakfast. we decided to eat her breakfast. after that, we headed to uni. before that, i had some meeting to attend with my Sikh colleague. he helped me set up an account in school so i could use the computing system in school to do the project.
lunch was great for we had it at a bar. HELLO? a BAR!!! it's my supervisor's idea.
of coz i felt like drinking. but to think of it, i didn't in the end. it's because i had to head down to north sydney to get my power adaptor for my laptop (which i whined for days).
so i had fish & chips which costs like $5. veri veri cheap!!
we went back to thank our lecturer and we headed to the train station. without further notice, i bought my tickets and i said goodbye to my classmates. they were going to homebush whilst i was heading to north sydney.
north sydney is a rather hilly place. to think of it... it looks like auckland streets. after i got my power adaptor, i decided to buy some more fruits and ended up buying $15 of red grapes, bananas, and blackcurrants.
so in my collection, i have loads of berries in my fridge. lolz.
i took another train alone again to bondi junction to meet my indonesian friend, CDA.
he's dressed up in a very professional manner. he had to do surveys for his uni. haha.
aniwae, he took me around city. which i realli appreciated!! i helped him do one of his surveys.
and we got to buy some sounviniers... and walked like 5 bus stops down oxford street. it's one of the largely-gay-populated street in australia. every shop there is gay. hahahaha... even the posters are meant for gays.
i took a bus back home. i alighted one bus stop earlier... (not delibrately) i didn't have proper dinner because i tot my housemates were cooking... but they didn't so i had white grapes as dinner. =P
i feel so ang moh.
ok. here i am typing this entry. i think i wanna go to bed liao la. i spent almost 3 hours typing this because there're people coming in and out of my room to use internet. so irritating!!
aniwae, i wanted to club you know!! today is supposed to be my partteeee day! but then my classmates are planning to climb up the blue mountain tomorrow. so i must wake up very very early tomorrow. >_<
argh... so no clubbing and partttteeee for me today. =(

i'm going to brush my teeth and go to bed soon. i wish i can wake up on time... for blue mountain.
next week... i swear i'm going to club (even though we already had our share of house party like yesterday...)

my granny is very caring towards me.
it's been like almost 2 days since we talked. we always have those stupid cold wars with no reason behind. i juz see her buay songz lo...
somehow, she's also superstitious too. because i'm first time staying out of country for so long. and i'm room-alone~
actually she went to those medium or dunno wat la.. to get those chop on one of my towels. >_< i think it helps to get rid of spirits...
sometimes i dunno whether my family purely believes in buddhism or wat. ahhh... i dun care. as long as i know what i'm practising can liaoz. lols.
actually mixing different religion stuff is quite an agony for me. i dun like to mix them together (even though i have a small bible in one of my cupboards which has a buddha statue on top! LOL! oh well, one of my going-against-family tricks last time.)
despite getting angry, i was rather touched. i dunno why i had been giving her cold shoulders lor... and she still cared so much for me. =P
